We left Tel Aviv and
headed to Caesarea and saw the most
amazing ruins of amphitheater and the remains of Herod Antipas’ palace also
since I was here last they have also uncovered a hippodrome. We also so a
latrine and a bathhouse all built in 22 AD. We then moved on to the aqueduct
which is totally amazing the water travels in these from the mountains to the
sea. Our next stop was Mt Carmel where Elijah conquered the prophets of Ba’al.
Which is totally amazing because they had to pack all that water up there to
soak there altar Elijah was so confident and our Lord did just as he said. Then
we moved on to Megiddo where there is 25 to 30 cities destroyed and rebuilt.
This city was the strong hold of Armageddon it was so well protected that they
built a tunnel through the mountain straight down. In fact 183 steps down to
where they could get water without leaving the city. The entrance to every
fortress has a left or right turn so that they had to slow down. So that they
would have a chance to kill them. We then moved on to Nazareth. To the place
where our Jesus was raised. It was amazing to learn that as a carpenter not
only did he make furniture he built the whole house. We got to see the cliff where
they were going to throw Jesus off and he confused them and walked through the
crowd. We got to see a woman weave wool the way they did in Jesus time also the
tools Jesus used to build his furniture. We saw sheep and goats the shepherd explained
that the goats do not obey the shepherd the will do their own thing. But the
sheep they follow the shepherd and prefer to be with him. So that is the wonderful
description of how we follow Jesus like sheep and he is our shepherd. The most
amazing thing to me was that we saw an olive press they press the olives 3
times using 400 hundred pound rocks in Gethsemane the Lord felt this pressure three
times in the garden.
Day 3
We just left Bethsaida and the fisherman’s village where
they think that Jesus fed the 5000. Also that they would lay their sick along
the side of road hoping that Jesus would come by so they could touch him and be
healed. We had some extra time so our guide took us to Korazin where we were
able to see a synagogue we were able to take a picture where the first Christians
engraved a fish on the entrance stone. She also showed us wild wheat .
We then moved on to Dan and saw how the Jews still built an
altar to the golden calf. Even after traveling with Moses and learning how much
our God loves us they still preferred something they could see. We are now at
the base of Mt Hermon. Again I am totally taken back we are where Jesus asked
the disciples who am I and this is where Peter said that he was the messiah and
Jesus said to Peter that he was the rock and that he would be the beginning of
his church. But it was like I could feel him there my heart overwhelmed with
Him and I cried. I think that Jesus is trying to consume me and I am sure it is
working. To top this day of we now head to the boat for a ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Now I want you know that I was not prepared for this I swear I could see our
Jesus walking towards me on the water I began to cry because at that time our
Pastor was reading the story of Jesus walking on water. I so felt like Peter
not enough faith. I know my life will not be the same when I return to you.
